Skin conditions like eczema, urticaria, vitiligo and psoriasis can often be caused by mental stress, and vice versa. Managing stress is key to managing healthy skin. This stress may include acute pain, concerns about health or concerns about our body and appearance. This group is to share experience and support one another in a judgement free, while we find ways to heal.
Suhavana trained at Manipal University with an M.Phil Clinical Psychology. She currently has her own private practice in Chennai and serves as a consultant clinical psychologist at VHS Hospital Chennai. She mainly works with adults and elderly on psychiatric illnesses such as mood, anxiety, and personality disorders. She also works with behavioral medicine and understanding the interlink between physical health and mental health. She strongly believes in mental health influencing our physical state and aims to explore interventions to help reduce this impact.
